Hi
Given the fact that none has written anything here I'll make start and tell a little bit about the stuff I'm doing at the moment.
Well in simple words I'm preparing a whole new set of item graphics. Ok ... it sounds simple and in a way it is but I can tell you it takes some time to get things done. So don't expect to much for the next time (good work needs time).
All the graphics I'm doing at the moment are made this way:
1. search for some references to get a better idea how the item should look ... if there is no reference I have to do it using my imagination which works sometimes
2. build a 3d model of the item
3. put some textures on it
4. render the stuff
5. do some finishing work in a 2d graphics tool
Ok ... references ... at the moment I have enough references in the graphics collection the daimonin is using now. So my reference are looking much like the stuff you see ingame.

next is the 3d model ... well some clicks here some moving there ... and something like this comes out

(the corners are added using a 2d graphics tool)
the next step is texturing the model I just made ... either you have a good texture collection on you hard disk or you have to search the internet or you have to trust your own 2d skills ... i trust my collection on the hard disk
After basic texturing it looks like this

So now we have a clean and brand-new item like it just came out of the blacksmith's house
But not every item is stored in a showcase. So we need a dirty, maybe corrode, version.
After some more texturing it looks like that

Finally i add those corners using a 2d graphics tool like gimp.
That's what I'm doing at them moment. I hope you enjoyed the little tour through the way I make some gfx
