Hey red, again

Well, i am thinking that there are 2 main types of mages in this subject of armor: Battle Mages and normal Mages.
Battle Mages: They need to go into "battle" so, they can wear rather heavy armor. As with all mages, armor does have an effect on casting and regeneration, so they can't be in... say full platemail (helm, shield, armor, boots, gloves) but they could be in field plate. Generally, because they are in battle, they use offensive magic (fireball, lightning, frost--nothing really tricky, but just outright forceful).
Mages: These are the mages that i think of when you say mage or wizard; some sort of cloth hat (hood, wizard's hat), robe, and sandals or light boots, no gloves. Obviously they can cast more easily because they are not hampered by nearly any clothing, and they seem to be more agile than any human in full platemail. These mages can cast all magics that fall under their field. So, not only could they cast things as the battlemage does (but perhaps not as strong), but support and the more "tricky" magic (ie: poison, confuse, the status stuff).
This help? I am voting for mages CAN, because of the battlemage
Cheers,
