I've checked the list, looking good so far. Just so you know, I am re-writing some of those songs, I still feel they are a bit empty or need some tuning. And the new ones are gonna have proper names.

Sounds good, just let me know what to change and send along whatever you feel like sending.  I must say though, the ones i placed "finished" after i really though very highly of and anticipate them being in the game.  Either way, its your creativity do with it as you see fit.  If you have criticisms of my tracks, let me know, so i can downgrade them from "finished" pieces!

Also, I did not include the apartment music (i think) and i don't intend to yet, as i am still working on more distinguishability between the different types of apartments.

When I send music to you, do I render it in very high sound quality so that you can render it in a quality and volume that is leveled with other Dmusic? Or do I just render it in normal (128kbit) .ogg format.

Edit: Hmm, I just when to have a listen through all my concept music and thought that this was actually not bad http://rapidshare.com/files/65695461/Anich_InstrumentTest04.zip.html
Its an Instrument test so it does sound a little different, but tell me what you think. Maybe if I fix up the last part it might be a Dmusic.

The main thing i am going to do to the music is put a compressor and limiter on it.  All the tracks i make end up at 160kbit (not because i set it at that, but because audacity is pre set to convert at that bitstream).  Just keep high quality backups for the day that we may have to render it all in HDAudio (lets dream of such sweet things...).  Seriously though, i shouldn't need more than 160 kbit tracks to compress and limit them (kinda levels the volume off so every track is fairly close to the same loudness with some exceptions... The down side is that you lose a bit of depth to the music when you do that, but it can't be helped if you want people with cheap speakers to hear the music in good fidelity...)

I listened to your instrument test and it sounds nice, the only thing i really could say that needs work on it is the violin was a little slow (slightly off beat, by about 1/4 to 1/8th second or so? i'm not very good with timing)  Otherwise the arrangement sounds very nice.  I like how you put different instruments together, i often find it difficult to find the noise i am looking for.  Good work!  I think tomorrow i am going to start recording some more sound effects.

I just listened to your music. They are incredible! I love the new OOP song, very dramatic and heroic - thats some Heroes of might and magic III stuff right there! I found no reason to criticize any of your productions. I just wish I had some of those lovely orchestral instruments (FL can make some those sounds but its really hard to manipulate) However I just wonder how the techno one will be used. I'm thinkin it will be good for a castle faction area where they manufacture creatures like iron golems, steel dragons, etc. Full of science and magic.

Anyhuuu, just keep doing what your doing. Very good work.

Cheers,

Well, short update, i recorded some weapons sounds, but i had to do it outside, and there was too much ambient noise to properly clean them up, so i have to re-record and re-edit.  This time i am going to do it in my basement - which is a much quieter setting, but has more echo. (my fiancée put the kibosh on recording them upstairs - "you're gonna break something!!!" - pffft.)

Heres an update from my work.
Currently working on multiple musics at the moment, I would say it will all be finished at the end of this month (due to exam study league I have little time to work on these)
I've fully completed a couple, which will be sent to Keepers for safe keeping, excuse the punt.
An idiot stole my guitar! It's a classical special guitar (almost 40 yrs old) segovia hand made. So incase he/she fled the country just keep a lookout.
My recording gear is worn out, so I been trying to hook up with my mates' gear. But haven't had any luck since so I'll find alternatives to record (pc mic, mobile phone, etc. doesn't really matter if you know how to manipulate sound/sound quality).
Thats all the good/bad news.

I think a big gratz! Thanks, and good luck! is in order. At Keepers for launching his Daitropsis map project, Daimonin audio project, and as well as helping me in our small Combat sfx project. All the best of luck Cheesy

Good work Sagek (a.k.a. Edit). I was able to see some other tracks too lol. Your track is really good, just needs some tweaks here and there. I say this will be good for the wizzy guild training area (or a dungeon with lots of mages and magical invironment).

Eh, my l337 linux machine doesn't like flash players, or pretty much embeded players of any type.  I'll have to try it on another machine. =)

Edit: got flash working on my computer now (its the licensed player, not the un-capable, but well intended free ones).  It sounds good, but the beat timing is off a bit (unless that's intended)

Otherwise i don't mind it much, and i wouldn't mind listening to it in the game, but it would have to be in the appropriate areas (as with most music).  Sounds alot like you like chill-out music.  Its a good style, very valid.  Maybe it would be nice for a plush dark elf meeting chamber.  Not one where they kill, but where they plan, devise and conspire.  Think dark red velvet tapestries, and plush suede couches, with deep red lanterns, and a thick mahogany table.  Obsidian stone carvings of gargoyles, wyverns, and dragons.  Hmmm... Yes, this song could work...

On the other side of things, Anich, our avatars seem to compliment each other =)

My Fiancée took that picture at a wedding i went to last night with her.  Nice picture.

Sounds better than the last one.  Good job!  Keep up the good work.

Only Question is:
Do you have any suggestions of where in the game we could/should use these tracks?

I just realized that all this time, I been rendering each of the tracks in different qualities (except for Anich_SilverEmpire, Anich_Xero, Anich_ThugDungeon which are all at same quality).

However I rendered the interpolation method for sampler channels of the tracks differently (some at 64-point sinc, some at 128-point sinc, etc). Should I (if necessary) re-render all the tracks I sent to you, at max interpolation quality and bit rate? (as far as my program can go). It takes a looong time to render at max quality so if so, just tell me which ones you think I should re-render (the ones that are going to be used ofcourse)

Updates. Working on multiple tracks, includes a desert theme, war theme, haunted theme, and haunted (really really haunted) theme. I've sent some of these (which are still pending) to Keepers, you can contact him or me if you want to have a listen to what I've done with some of these so far. Due to exams, these won't get done till next month or so.

For those using Fl studio. You can collaborate by passing the .flp file around (preferably the .flp should be using default instruments/plugins). This means others can help build/modify your tracks from the very roots of the track! You can also collaborate with other different studio users by breaking the track into channels for the other person to modify, however this method is complicated and time consuming.

Keepers, About that song "Freaky Ambience", cannot be used. I dunno how, but seems that some of the sounds I used I've heard them somewhere else, and they were supplied by some other people which I don't know how they run their business. Ontil I clear up the track 100% then we can use it, otherwise, I'll take out the suspicious sounds and replace with some of my own crappy ones. Or remake the whole music.

Cheers,
Anich
