As some of you may know I dabble a bit with music recording as well. And I had previously submitted a couple of items. ( I may still have those files on my USB drive)
Anyway if there is anything you think you might like help on, I am running Fruity loops 5 and Audacity (freeware) I also have Acid Pro. And I have a
very good collection of sound effects and samples if you happen to need certain sounds, like crunching, sword fighting, footsteps, heartbeats, breathing, wind, weather of any sort.
I have Guitars, harmonicas and a Casio WK-3000 workstation. Let me know what kind of theme of soundscape you are going for and I can work up a
prototype fairly quickly.
For example if you want eerie slow music for a mysterious feeling, a battle march, or just Peter Griffin (family guy) theme song walking around music.
My specialty is ballads or folk music on guitar, perhaps some classical guitar as well.
The only reason I don't do it on my own is because I have low motivation and would rather work on something like this as a team.
My skype id is johnsims831 please add me if you like

Awesome, it's nice to have you here with us
. I run FL7 (XXL). You can get the free full download at
http://screamingflower.dontexist.org/daimonin/anichfiles/
. If you have some useful tools you'd like to share with us, send them to Keeper's by email, big files I would suggest using
http://www.rapidshare.com/
to send them. I'd like to listen to your tracks.
Cheers,
Anich

Anich: Do i have to use something other than an internet browser to get access to the free FL7 you've mentioned?
Gnub: I am certainly interested in listening to all that you have already. I know i've given some of it a listen already, but i'm sure i haven't listened to everything. Get planes to host the stuff

Gah! Keepers must have forgotten to include the download link after he updated the website
. You can download it here at
VIRUS WATCH: URL MINIMIZED UNTIL FURTHER DISCUSSION AND EXPLORATION. DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK!
http://screamingflower.dontexist.org/daimonin/media/audio/packages/FL_Studio7__XXl_.rar
Edit:
*looks through the list of submitted music*
Hmm ... what's this "Untitled-Anich" lol. I can't remember submitting an "Untitiled" track. Keepers, you might want to add a section in there solely for concept art - I would like that to be included somewhere in there. It is part of the audio project, but only to a lesser extent. I wouldn't want to download the new bonus music package with a untitled track, let alone concept tracks that aren't in use
.
Edit: fixed. Download
here
.

erm.... my fiancee is in charge of the website and i'm trying to not boss her around with what to include and what not to include, so she is just linking everything already there... I'll see if we can get that changed.
After talking with her, she is going to work on it.

I know that you and your fiancee have other commitments, so there's no rush or hurry.
I'm having technical difficulties at the moment. My PC needs a new cooling system, and the faulty security codes for the Vista computers are preventing me from accessing my projects through those comps. I will have to wait until I find another way to work on my music projects. I really like your new theme "UndeadTower" - its very classical

It goes very well together with your silver empire track
Makes you think where i got the inspiration from...
Anyway, good luck on finding a computer to use. What are the system requirements for FL? If they are not too high, i could load it on a computer here, and ship it to yeah. If you wanted to pay the shipping of course (the computer would be free). I have about 12 computers in the house now (collections always grow...), and i wouldn't mind getting rid of one. Of course you would be on your own getting a power supply for it, as that i would not be able to do (i don't know what kind of power systems your nation uses)

Min system requirements to run FL7 are:
Pentium III or Athlon XP (any processor supporting SSE instructions)
(or) Intel Mac with Bootcamp (running XP or Vista)
Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista (32 & 64 bit)
256MB ram
200MB free harddisk space
Windows-compatible soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO drivers are required for audio recording (FL installer comes with generic Asio4All drivers)
If your system meets the minimum system requirements, it'll be your actual system resources (memory, CPU, ...) that could impose limits on your FL Studio projects. I run on a IntelM 2.2 Ghz, and can barely play using all the step sequencers for Shadows without overruns. If I could get my hands on a IntelR 1.8 Ghz dualcore, then that would be sweet
. But of course, anything more or less will be fine, I don't need a high end machine to make my music sound nice
.
Perhaps if you could tell me the specs/weight of the pc, then I'll find out how much the courier is. If it is worth it, I'll cover the shipment costs
.
Cheers,
Anich

hmm i don't have any of those laying around unfortunately. I will let you know though if something comes my way (which it will eventually, its just a matter of time). Most of what i have is pre-gigahertz stuff. Great for servers and internet browsing, terrible for gaming, 3-d modeling, rendering, and audio synthesis. I do have a p4 chip lying around, which i could pop into a motherboard if i had one, and there plenty of ram lying in my file cabinet drawers. Its just a matter of finding the proper pieces. I'll keep you in mind when discussing computer parts with people in the future. We could package it without a case to save shipping weight, if you had a case there and were handy with a screw driver.
I'll think more on it, see what i can think up!

Well, i booted up FL studio and i'm getting this really weird/bad playback. Had it since installation... affects all tracks i've opened.
Any ideas, anich?
Edit: I've done some investigating. First, i went
here
and did what it told me to do. Nothing has changed.... So, while i was testing, i decided to see if i could narrow down the track to what was making the weird glitching/cutty noises. I found them...
Just those tracks make the weird noises (at least in your music track). Now, what does this mean?

Check your audio options - the default audio options require extremely high specs. For fast computers, its better to turn off the buffer and change your time offset to 0.5 ms. Just fiddle around with your audio options, I think the problem is in there. I'm not much of a genius with the program, so here is the
FL F.A.Q
, if I'm not any help.
If any of these don't help with your problem, then could you explain in full detail what the weird playback is? I know my studio did use to play up, where all the windows would flicker and you lose control - but that was because of my comp, I'm sure.

Cole: I have an idea about your website. If it's not too much, will it be possible to have a place where I can store my music work? Like a free host site. Because I'd like to keep others posted about my productions (I'm also sick of other host sites that require passes, or keep changing file locations). I don't need lots of space, under 100 MB, just to store/share my concept music productions for others to listen and comment on. Perhaps you have something else in mind?
Uni: Ahh I forgot about that. It's a known bug, that when transferring .flp files, the sound produced by the instruments can become altered. It happens a lot with sytrus instruments, and other complicated plugins. My theory to this is because these plugins use a series of manipulated frequencies to produce a sound instrument (which is why it is hard to get the sound of a real instrument with using these plugins). I am exactly sure why it does that, and there is probably a certain method used to move transfer .flp files without distorting the instruments. I'm going to have to find a way to avoid this, any ideas? - I'm also looking forward to some Uni productions
Edit: Hrmm, actually I'm not sure now if it's a known bug, I can't seem to find any info about it. It might be something to do with my computer, ooh

Anich: i'll send you a PM about it, my site does have a FTP server that i have extended to Devs for use. Also, i got a new router yesterday and installed dd-wrt on it, so i have a DynDNS updater that actually works running now (Yay!). No more website downtime!

The music download files have been updated. Anich, your 5 files are also included in there now as well.

Awesome
. Just make sure that the musics I sent are mastered and rendered at the same level as the others. (We don't want music quality to change, or the volume to increase/decrease). I'm sure you know that, and have done all that already, but just to be sure ...
And also to comment on the site - the layout look much cleaner now ... Hopefully mapwizards will be careful not to use the concept musics
