The link you want is here eldergodz:

http://www.daimonin.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=2079

Read all of the posts on that thread, some problems have been addressed in downloading and finding the proper file to run to make the game run.  Its also the place to post problems you might find in downloading and running.

Any other problems you might come across in the test B4 server probably should go in the Bugtracker.  If that isnt correct correct me and Ill change this post, right now I need breakfast.

i guess my question is this...

when (because i have no doubt daimonin will make the numbers) daimonin goes P2P, will it be a monthly fee or a one time fee?

either way, i am most likley getting it (unless it is a monthly fee for 15$, im even skitchy about 10$ a month,  because i pay for world of warcraft and a cell phone monthly also)

Be more specific with your phrase, "goes P2P" toramoth

IF you mean all players will be required to pay to play the game at all, read the very first post to read MT's adamant refusal to ever have Daimonin be subscription only.

IF you mean that some players will volunteer to pay a monthly due to get special features and help the game out financially, so that everybody can enjoy the game whether they pay or not, read MT's first post in this thread.

If you are referring to "donations" or the "shop" then read MT's first post in this thread.

All your questions can be answered in s MT's very first post in this thread.  Use the forum search engine with the words "pay to play" "P2P" and similar phrases and you will find many threads that all have MT saying pretty much the same thing as he's said in the very first post of this thread.

okay, i read it again (fifth of sixth time now) and it still doesnt answer my question.

My question is, WHEN A PRIMIUM ACOUNT IDEA IS IMPLAMENTED (that would be, when it is possible to upgrade, to clear that up) Is it going to be a one time fee, or is it going to be a monthly fee.

If i missed were they answered that in the first post, please reply it in a quote.

Ah, in my mind I see a difference between P2P and Premium Accounts.

Right now there aren't any "premium accounts" as far as I know, I could be wrong but I haven't heard of anything being implimented at the moment.  The closest thing I can find is the Donation Shop, but thats just buying an item for a one time cash transaction.

Here's where MT talks about "premium accounts."

"On the other side - if we ever have 1000 or more people playing (and
with the 3d client the whole dev team think it WILL happen) you don't
want it on our current p2/400 box, or?

Then premium accounts are the ONLY way to have a playable game which
don't runs amok. Its not a question you like it or not. You have to do it
- when you don't do it, running functional server will not work for a bigger
player base. Thats proofed and really nothing special - there are TONS
of text muds out since 15 years who has 200-400 users and pay the
server bills by moderate setted premium accounts. They did in this
way because its the only way to pay constant bills - different to
donations. Same for hundreds of ultima online shards with some hundred
players. If you don't believe me - go that servers and ask the player
base there who has that system since more as a decade. "

But this still doesn't mean P2P, just that there will be accounts with special stuff for those that want to help Daimonin in a financial manner so that everybody whether they can pay or not will enjoy the game.

You have a good question as to whether the premium account will be a one time payment or otherwise, but right now the premium accounts are nothing more than twinkly in MT's eye.

Uh, ellwood, we don't have a "P2/400 box" anymore. Remember the server change? We now have a 64-bit box, running Ubuntu (I think I spelt that wrong) Linux.

I was directly quoting from MT's first post but being too lazy to go back and forth to get the quote tag to work.  Either way, the reason MT needed money/donations/whatever was to get the new equipment.  In the future this will happen again especially when the 3d servers go live.  So MT and the Dev team may decide to impliment a premium account system to fund the necessary equipment/maintenance while keeping the game subscription free for everybody else.

OK this be my first, post. I enjoy the game very much, I am one of those ppl who wouldn't be able to afford the p2p thing, but i don't mind it's a great game and I look forward to the char. wipe :-P, i think the idea of haveing a f2p and a p2p is great idea haveing it so if you want to p2p you can get speacile bonuse's or have certain things that a f2p can't get unless the trade, is a great idea it add's more realism to the game and helps the trade, ppl can make proffits off of sealing premium iteams, that you arn't able to get unless you have a p2p account. For some this probly bad idea but, haveing an equal playing feild Ie. mobs drop random for everyone or quest all turn out the same is great way to make it a equaly based game for all nomatter if you pay or don't you will still have the same chance to get the things if you kill mob's get the cash and buy the stuff from a prem. member. (this my opinion noone has to agree) but I wouldn't mind playing hard to get the cash to buy certain items, hell I do it now lol, but haveing an equal ingame for all is better then makeing it so that only prem. members get certain iteams for playing because they pay, if u make it where you have to gets hords of money to buy one iteam in game that would cost a prem. member half the amount is also a good way, give's ppl something to work towards and makes the game more intresting. Once agin these are my thoughts. hag1 everyone :-) and keep playin greatist online rpg ive ever played.......

and yes i am addicted to Daimonin

MorbidAngel.. ty for the time and the game...

I'm afraid to post anything for fear of this thread becoming a source of reactionary posts.  oh well.. It wouldn't be the first time I've caused problems around here Wink

Unless things have changed since the last time this thread was bumped there are no plans to EVER make the game subscription only.  The donation link and the donation shop seem to work to keep enough money flowing to pay for upgrades to the hardware.  All MT needs to do is mention that a hardware upgrade is needed and those of us who can seem to be willing to give a little.

This game has a small enough player that if there is a new item or feature that could disrupt the balance of the game it doesn't take long before the forums are filled with arguments and debates as to why the item or feature should be kept or removed.  It happened with the donation shop when a player was allowed to pay real cash for game cash.  Arguments and debates filled the threads and the feature was removed from the donation shop.

Hopefully you've at least skimmed through the previous posts and clicked on the links to other related threads to fully be informed about this topic.

since i think ellowood is refering to my post Smiley i was just stating my thoughts on p2p thats all lol, i wasn't worried about it, and nothing brought on the debate or argument lol, but if ive contributed to it sorry i didn't mean to was a open n random thought lol... (but if im just wasteing my time then ignore me and this) Smiley

But i like the idea's im not aginst any of em, was just thinkin out loud lol, and i wouldn't care if it "ever" did become p2p im sure yall would do a great job at makeing f2p things for us broke ppl Smiley "But" i agree i don't think it will ever be a p2p game, the player base is small wich is good, easier to make friends, and ppl you can trust and that alone makes it so much more fun then anything eals.

im just tryin put my 2 cents in (most time's it not worth that) lol

once agin my thoughts pay no mind to me, im not trying to start anything Smiley

My only intention was to make sure that anybody who was new and decided to read only a few posts of this thread wouldn't think they need get angry.  Missunderstandings about this topic have caused quite a ruckus in the past.

oh no....i hope it doesn't do that...i have no money, and my parents aren't doing much better anyway...I understand if we have to...but the very thing that drew me to this game was that it was a good, fun free online game. Smiley If it were a one time subscription, that would be fine. I have birthday money. But if it's monthly, I can't do it.... Sad

Edit by Ellwoodblues: There has be no change in MT's policy that this game will be free to play.  So don't worry, play happy Smiley
