Every site editor/admin/sub-admin can now submit news.

The link to Submit News is in the Editor Menu.

When you has done some work and you want bring it to the attention of the Daimonin community, like you added some important or just new Wiki pages or you uploaded some brand new graphics, then submit a news about it!

Every admin/sub-admin can review that news and enable it. Then it will be listed under news on the frontpage.

Don't be to shy when you want submit a news - they are a good way to bring your work to the people.

Not too late to respond to this?

You won't break anything. Once you have submitted news it needs to be approved by an admin, so broken bits can be fixed or the whole thing can simply be rejected (eg, if it's spam or you clearly haven't made any effort to do it right).

So lets get some news up there that doesn't come from MT, Gecko, Uni, or myself. Smiley (PS a wiki edit is not news, a major new piece of documentation in the wiki is).

Well I've only submitted one, and Gecko has only done a couple AFAIK. Basically it is all MT and this gives a false impression of the number of people involved in developing Daimonin. Plus, submitting a link to an external site does wonders for your Google PageRank. Smiley

Yes... well, i think we need to figure out what we should/shouldn't put on the news. As of now, we just have big stuff that people need to know about. Should we be putting development news up? What about notes on big, external things like the firefox 3 release?

Imho, we should be posting more things on the news to show that we are a very active dev team--even if we don't have *all* that much going on on the dev side of things (as sometimes this is the case).

Cheers,

Necroposter! Wink

Well lets not do the FF3 announcement thing. Keep it Daimonin-related...

ISTR mentioning this elsewhere, but AIUI MT's plan is to have properly categorised news.

ATM we can categorise it as development or general, but it all ends up posted as general so there's not much point.

If/when the news is properly subdivided, perhaps auto-generated development news for every commit to trunk, like CIA does on IRC (ie, only the log message).

Whatever, we must use more acronyms. TTFN.

I agree with Smacky... good idea with the bot...

Also be aware that news are actually being tracked by some web 2.0 sites like swik.net...
