Currently we have just the one up ladder:

Functional, but not very pretty.

I'd like a sort of makeshift version. Ie, one that has been made by lashing a bunch of sticks together.

This is probably slightly tricky because it needs to be the same width as the one above (it is makeshift and rough so a pixel or two here and there as the verticals bend or to show the knots holding it all together is fine, but basically the same width).

The heights is not so important (within reason). You don't need to keep the rungs so close together or regular which might make up a bit for the width thing.

Anyway, just an equivalent of that image would be fine, and then I can do some copying, pasting, and transformin to create all the rotations (well we only need 2 for the up) and down versions.

@Smacky, what do you mean lashed together?
Haha is this the right idea?  Tongue

@Raab: Hm, these were the best images I googled (3rd and 4th are best):

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/22/35086607_9a46ccdb28_s.jpg
http://lifewithmonkeys.typepad.com/my_weblog/images/2007/10/18/bamboo_ladder.jpg
http://bp3.blogger.com/_W1fh-uxPG50/RwpuXADrC9I/AAAAAAAAAcg/dzTeb3BaOf8/s1600-h/IMG_411+Ladder.jpg
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/NGSPOD05/110125~A-Handmade-Wooden-Ladder-Rests-against-an-Adobe-Structure-Posters.jpg

What I mean by lashed is like the rungs are tied to the verticals with animal hide or something (nothing like that in these images.

But what I particularly want is something like the third or fourth images where the wood looks 'natural' and not perfectly straight.

Now I can (and will) use your images in other places, so TYVM, but they're not quite what I had in mind for this particular use.

Smacky: its more of just a color change, but is this more of what you are looking for?  (its kinda hard to make something like that within the "same size constraints".  Of course, being that these types of ladders are much bulkier than your well built ladder... i must ask why they need to be the same size in the game...

@Raab: I added some lighter green dots on the diagonals from the darker green dots, which helps it stand out more. I used the darker image as (IMO) it looks better in game than the washed out version:

So the 'vege' can pass a leaf or moss material in a forest dungeon, swamp goo in a swamp dungeon, algae in a sewer, etc.

@TPK: That's rightish. Now remove every other rung and put the remaining ones at slight angles.

Yes, the size constraint makes it hard. But that just means you need to think and work harder and end up with a better result! Smiley

Actually, the main reason is to keep everything to scale so it is all consistent. That said, the existing ladder is a tad small I guess. As I say you don't have to be pixel perfect. But, for example, your rope ladder is too wide IMO.

That's good. Smiley

Now is it possible to 'roughen it up' a little and maybe show where the rungs are bound instead of nailed to the verticals at that size or is it too small to add more detail? If it's too small, how much more space would you need?

Also, heightwise, I think an extra rungs-worth of height would improve it.

Hmm. Your first link just shows some sort of imageshack login page, and the second one blows up their database Smiley

Apart from the links, the actual image in your quote is the same as the original one, i.e. a dotted green rectangle near the upper left and some blue bits along the bottom. Unless that's just a thumbnail with some text underneath that is too small to be recognised.

Perhaps you are seeing something different? Maybe a private area that others don't have access to?

Cause Copy-Pasting-Necroposting is fun.

And then some unfinished ladders hopefully finished...

And their backsides...
