cvs was updated and a new binary was build.
the actual version shows (nearly) all stuff that is currently working.
i would like to have a list with all working hardware configurations.
e.g:
1800 mhz, 512 MB, gf2mx (64MB), 800x600 fullscreen, linux, 45 fps
if you have older hardware you can try:
client3d.exe -f
if you want to help on client3d, this is a good start:

Hm, I got the latest CVS but I'm still getting the fragmented mouse pointer (in fact I can't see any differences at all)...
Anyway, 2700 mhz, 512 MB, Nvidia GeForce FX 5700, 1280x1024 fullscreen, linux, 97 fps average

@smacky
send me a pic of the fragmented mouse pointer...
what do you mean with "no differnce at all"? you pressed the keys listed in the text window?

Here's a screeny:
** REMOVED **
The pointer is in the bottom center of the textured window.
Hm, is it more helpful if I give the stas for 800x600 fs? average 215 fps.
I did press keys in the latest version, but not the previous. It seems that if I mash a few keys on the right of the letters on the keyboard I can sometimes plant a tree, but I can't get this to work at will with a single keypress. LEFT/RIGHT rotate my man but what are UP/DOWN supposed to do? PGUP/PGDOWN change the viewing angle, but IIRC this is a feature of client3d that won't be in the game? (If it is, it'll be brilliant for my stargazing suggestion!)
Is there a keylist that I'm not finding?

you dont have the latest version, or you send the wrong picture
(in your version up/down changed the heightmap 1000 times each key stroke)
we will have zoom IN, not sure about camera view right now.

That was strange. I don't know what the problem was (EDIT: I do now, and that much is fixed).
Anyway I've recompiled and reinstalled and it definitely is the latest CVS now. But I'm still getting the pointer problem.

Hm, did a complete recompile/reinstall.
Could it be to do with the version of Ogre I am using? make/linux/README.first mentions Ogre 1.0.6. I have 1.2.0RC1.

I can't compile via codeblocks. Error is quite unhelpful to me because i just got it from the CVS...
Project : client3d
Compiler : GNU GCC Compiler (called directly)
Directory : C:\Program Files\daimonin\client3d\make\win32\CodeBlocks\
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switching to target: Debug
Linking executable: ..\..\..\client3d_d.exe
mingw32-g++.exe: ..\..\..\OgreMain_d.dll: No such file or directory
Process terminated with status 1 (0 minutes, 4 seconds)
0 errors, 0 warnings
So, i'm thinking it makes much more sense to you. Oh, and the original first compile took 1.8 hours before it hit this...
Cheers,
Unislash

(i told unislash yesterday on irc how to get it compiled)
if you also want to compile it with codeblocks on m$:
- use codeblocks nightly builds
- choose build target: release

The tricky part is getting nightly builds set up... :S. I read their wiki, but i can't find the extra files on the nightly build forum. Can you?

is this the new Compilation Mt told me about or the 3d client for a future release?
I am not seeing the beta four editor/client/server compilation at all( unless it is taking longer than expected?)

What is with....
Quote
DirectX 9.0c Feb 2006 edition
MingW Environment:
g++ 3.4.5
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/gcc-g++-3.4.5-20060117-1.tar.gz?download
gcc core 3.4.5
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/gcc-core-3.4.5-20060117-1.tar.gz?download
win32api 3.6
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/w32api-3.6.tar.gz?download
binutils 2.16.91
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/binutils-2.16.91-20060119-1.tar.gz?download
mingw runtime 3.9
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/mingw-runtime-3.9.tar.gz?download
gdb 6.3.2
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/gdb-6.3-2.exe?download
Should i get them all? Should i get one? Which one? Where should i put it? Will installing the SDK to its default directory work (c:/ogreSDK)? Do i need to set any settings in Codeblocks? Do i need to install a MingW? Questions questions
Cheers,
