We are adjusting the test server so there may be some instability while we test it.  There will probably be a few changes to be tested, more on that when it is ready.  Current and the updated client (soon to be released) will be able to connect.

ok, double-posting but time to add a bit more detail:

with stream longir compiled in, there are some changes to the gmaster code:
/mw will activate for mw/vol/gm/mm mapwizard mode, currently limited to /mute command.
vols have enhanced capabilities.
gms have enhanced capabilities including /dm_stealth and /generate to create a limited range of items
/mm will activate mapmaster mode for those previously DM.

I have also added increased documentation on gmaster functions.

darn, Im barely keeping up annoying the GM's/DM's/VOL's these days, you can't add more stuff! :p

hehe It should be a barely noticeable change to players. VOL and GM remain the same. DMs are renamed MMs (ie, the same as already used on the forum) and MWs are recognised ingame (as they are in the forum).

Basically MWs are to MMs what VOLs are to GMs (scum Wink).

MWs/MMs deal with map and system issue, and VOLs/GMs deal with community and player issues (ie, the game rules). There will inevitably be a little overlap, but that's the basic idea. Now Longir just needs to make sure the balance is right and tweak/add powers (such as the /generate command). In the end it should simply build on and enhance the existing system.

I think we should still have dungeon masters (DMs) ... in terms of RPGs, DMs are the all-powerful ... Smiley

Make me a GM on the test server, and I'll do my best to break the code! Cheesy

MM is far more correct according to their function, that it's related to MW is clear, and is already established on the forum.

I think somebody broke something around 5:00 pmish (pst) yesterday, because the test server crashed around then (or was it you longir, making changes?)
