Lol, the cloud thing is going really fast because of the GIF animation. It'd be slower normally. I think that what i'll end up doing is using blender for it, actually. That way it'll look good and move realistically. I could do it by hand, but it's painstakingly hard to animate particles without an engine to do it for you Tongue

Oh, and it looks like a monster because you can't see that it's transparent (gif again). Normally it'd be darker and, well, transparent, so it'd look less like a monster...

Looks good now Smiley. As per the rendering thing... i'm pretty sure that we found that using a different renderer things come out less fuzzy and better looking. It was like... CAT or something. I'll search... yup, here it is: http://www.daimonin.com/torchwoods_artwork-t5398.0.html;msg69904#msg69904

So uhm... i've been patient with my plea for my new smileys to be put it... but the time is nigh. Or i think it is. Erm... can anyone put these in? (i'm just a feeble artist!)

Cheers,
Unislash

PS: Hmmmmmm... can we use alpha now?

Ok, so i was bored a bit and took some suggestions:

First we have a poison cloud spell. Simple smudging and alpha layer.

Then some brass knuckles Smiley.

I also found some long lost files, so maybe some new stuff later Smiley

So... update on our snowpacalypse in washington. The news told us to start shoveling our roofs after a Rosauers supermarket store roof collapsed due to the 4 feet of (now heavy) snow. Our roofs are apparently not built to tolerate much more than 4.5 feet, and we're slated to get snow every day for the next 5 days, so... shoveling roofs we go Smiley

Hehe, i think that my lights got taken out of the public svn for the time being to allow more artwork to be put in (temporarily). And i have been away, so i didn't do any decorating this year. Sorry folks. (but i'm pretty sure there was some work done for the holidays by others...)

Torch! Smiley

The halo stuff is really cool there Smiley. I've been using it in some of my experiments, but didn't realize we could use it! You can also make smoke that way, btw.

So, some feedback to your latest:

Bear: Good, good Smiley. He's huge, but that's ok, because they are.

Troll: Great Smiley. I really like how he's looking, but he's missing something. Shadows. He's missing shadows. As of now, he looks somewhat like a clay version. Give him sharper shadows and he'll look much more realistic. I have a feeling you used your normal skin material, but skin isn't supposed to be green... Smiley

Halo: Awesome Smiley. Ooooo... Make spells!

Cheers,
Unislash

PS: Oy... smiley faces are taking over the world....

Mmmm... i'd just go with ubuntu if i were you. It's very much linux newbie friendly, and has an extraordinary amount of support. In fact, i'm always hard-pressed to not find a thread on their forums that fixes my problem when i have one. But alas, i'm still a linux newbie Smiley

Good job torch Smiley. Feedback to your latest:

1) They seem a tad fuzzy at the top. Are you using the right renderer?
2) Maybe it's just me, but it seems that the really bright square at the base of the pole just sticks out a lot in each and every rotation... should this be changed?

Unislash

Well, i was going to throw in some of the spliced directions (NE, SE, NW, SW), but i think it'd just be more work than needed. If we are planning to use these extensively, then i'll make those directions. What do you think smacky?

washington? which washington?

Hehe, well, if DC had a low of 4 degrees, it'd make national news i think Tongue. (like last year with those huge freezing rain storms)

Cheers,
Unislash

PS: Now it's snowing. Great. This stuff is going to be here forever... and i'll be skiing in it Cheesy

Thanks for all of your efforts, time and devotion to this community torch Smiley. It's been really great working together over the last few years, and i'm sure we'll be able to work together again sometime later Smiley. Hope to chat with you soon!

Cheers,
Unislash

PS: you uploaded your blend files?! Awesome Cheesy
