Nice looking maps Ratix, I've not really checked them out online yet, but I did browse through Jindoh village a bit.
(By the way, check the connection on jindoh_gren, it takes you between some trees and you have to use /stuck, maybe the map is set but not the x, y coords, on the exit stairs?)

Ratix told me last night that he was having some trouble connecting the maps, they are in several different sub directories and the connections worked on his local server but not on the testserver. So he is working on those kind of problems.

I explained the connection problem in the other thread hereWhen I spoke to him in game, he was having problems doing the ../relative bit. Not sure why atm.

Sorry Grommit I didnt see any other thread. Still dont. Link just forces me to login again, then tells me there is no such post. Must be in a secret area and now I'll be banned for trying to get in

Oh sorry - it's in the MapWizards forum. Didn't know it would be clever enough to intercept the link. Really, you ought to be a member of that forum - you're about the wizziest wizard I've come across, while still hiding your light under a bushel

Here is the relevant post: Look at the tile connections between areas. For example, the west connection from wilderness1/terapath9 is '/tera_area/terawild56'. That should be '../tera_area/terawild56'. What you have is an absolute path under maps. You need a relative path up one level (to ratix base) then down again. If you don't have too many connections between areas that should not be too big a problem to fix. BTW, your example was made up - a real one would have saved me 3 minutes. EDIT: Your pond walls problem is because they have been changed to layer 2, instead of default layer 5. Your closed sewer holes have a (default) blocking passage set. If you want to walk on them you have to take this off.

Yeah Ratty, they look awefully good from that far out, but when I played in them on the test server I found myself lost in nothing but grass and trees alot of the time...
Massive area coverage!
Of course that isn't to say that when I did find a populated area it wasn't very well done... because it was. But why so big?

lol yes our world is big die... but isnt it a pain in the ass when you gotta walk all the way to town for somthing simple that you cant get from anywhere else... wouldnt it be much nicer at the end of your street? Well thats what maps should be in my opinion... less walking and more <fill in whatever your idea of good gaming is all about> From experience its gonna take alot to fill in those maps with mobs/quests/small bits of decoration that can't be done with the fill by % tool... unless of course thats already been done EDIT: And then you gotta remember that big spaces and the random fill tool means that you bump into a few hundred trees on your way back to town... With great space comes great responsibility...

can I get anywhere map maker for B3? Don't bother. There is really no point in wasting your time. If you want to do some mapmaking, get the B4 mapmaker package.
