I was getting my stuff repaired in the test-server and noticed the process was silent and unatmospheric. So I cobbled together this .wav from some sfx from the freesound project.

The idea is that a different sound would be played based on the material of the item being repaired. Comments?

[EDIT: Duh! In fact you'd want to base it on item type as well as material. Ie, this sound would be fine for armours but no good for weapons. And weapons would possibly have different sounds depending on their type -- sharpening for slash but not for impact, etc.]

The left track is the hammering noise.

The little bangs are extracted from here: http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=3538

The big bangs from here (I compressed them to remove the reverb): http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=451

The right track is a background drone of a furnace. It is extracted from here: http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=21109

These files all have licences allowing me to make a derivative work from them.

See my edit of the first post. That would be a sound for hard metal armour (breatt plates, shields, etc). Weapons would need different sounds.
