Very nice of u that u nevertheless dropped in and gave a sign. Sorry, i am a real fool in all those things, so that won't really help ...
I, too, wanted to create a nice mapset, but got busy with phd, work and family (am doing my own bussiness right now and library is opened til 0:00 - so guess when I am usually leaving ...) + trying the hallo maps lol => just trying to say: I got u Cheesy Take care of u and stay in touch ... there will come better times (hopefully) Huh?

Heya Sherock!  Long time no see!  We look forward to the day when you come back and bless us with your hard work, and good humor!  Seriously, we all understand, and everyone just needs time sometimes.  Its understandable, and even promoted.  When you get sick of that game you are playing now, though, remember us, and maybe it will be fun again.  Smacky once said that this was all suppose to be fun, and if its not, then theres no point (thats not verbatim smacky =)).  Well, hes right.  You come back when you can have fun, and have time to do so, and provided i'm here when you come back, i'll teach you what i know about anything i know about (if you want to know).

Unfortunately though, i don't know about blender, but!  I do know that blender isn't needed to make phenomenal items, and sceneries, and all the other types of landscaping devices, in reasonable time-frames.  Really, i only see blender being reasonable (in a production timeline) when used for mobs.

Thats just my opinion.  (and maybe i'll finally get my 3-d scanner built by that time, so all we have to do is animate, and let some of my friends make the models for us, eh?  We'll see)

Hey Sherock

Don't know you well but the mobs you have created are awesome and work incredibly fine in-game! I know Lippy loves your drows (he bombs us with drow raids all the time), your drows have given some wonderful drops (speaking of PR). Anyway I(and we) can't wait to have you back! Your artistic skills are very much needed and appreciated. I hope you enjoy in whatever it is your doing, have a nice day.

Cheers,
Anich

AHH Smiley  so many nice people that i really do miss. You guys have got your hands on the single best community I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of.
thanx for the support I really do like to work on these images. in fact when i dumped my harddrive from running out of space I restored the old GIMP program I have
always used to do the editing with.  I lost all my passcode keys for SVN CVS etc.  so I would have a heck of a time trying to get going again.
Also not sure i can store all the images we have in the trunk here anyhow. I wonder how i could work around that? WORKAROUND PEOPLE Wink i still have my online storage
so this is why you guys can still see the images i have posted.  BTW how come my graphics folder is "empty" ????

Heya Sherock!

Long time no see to you too Wink. As for your predicament, i certainly can attest. I've been doing a bit of image work myself, although it's not close to being as intensive as your past works. It does get hard.

Anyway, i may be of some assistance for you in blender, although i know 2 people who could do you better than i can. Get skype up and you'll have access to lots of people with resources Smiley. Talk to you later.

Cheers,

Sherock: have the SVN go to a 2 gig/4 gig USB thumb drive.  (it takes about 4 times as long to update when people commit changes, but you'll be forever thankful to never have to worry about your hard drive, or about being ale to work at... erm... work... or school or whatever. Travel gear!!!)

If you really need one i can send you one in the mail, but if your looking at deals you can usually find them for about $15-$35.

If you get around to getting your passcodes back, store them on the USB drive as well.  And if you get Michtoen to reset your passcode, or send you a copy of yours back, then have him send me mine too, as i always forget to ask him when i see him.

Donno about the whole empty folder thinggy though, you'd have to ask the admin devs about that.

I have no idea why your graphics folder is empty, mainly because i am not sure which graphics folder you are talking about Smiley. If it is the one in the mapwiz svn, then it is empty because it was committed to the trunk and B4 branch--which means they are all ingame Smiley. We couldn't keep them in your folder because then we'd have duplicate archs.

Still, we should certainly have some way of keeping track of who did what because apart from the SVN records and our memory, there's no record... hmmm... well, we could simply have a text file in the mapwiz svn repository stating who did what, but that would require those wishing to have their records to update it. What do you guys think?

I think having a text file in the records as to who makes what would be awesome.  This might be open source, but its nice to have it be considerate-open source, where you can say- yeah everyone has the right to whatever, but i was the one who made that originally, and it even says it in this file here!

I like that idea.

Of course, it would probably be the artist's responsibility to keep it updated and not the admin's responsibility...

Just thinking out loud ... when saving PNG using GIMP I think you can save a comment - so Authors can tag their work in this way already.  If you then modify an image you could add (not replace) your name at the bottom of the comment.

Don't know - good or bad idea?

Tagging the original author's name is good. Keeping a complete modification history in the image seems a bit daft: [1] it will make the images bigger (remember they must be transferred across the network at some point); [2] everything's in SVN anyway, and SVN maintains a complete history.

ok Now worked some more the attack is completed and started the walk.  known issues:  I have to redo the one walking sequence as the bow moves opposite the other two walk frames. I am prolly going to do a "looking around" idle set that I usually do (head turns) other than that comments?  remember easier to fix something now then later Wink
