Greetings!

I've been enjoying Daimonin for a few weeks now as a player...and thought I would throw my hat in the ring in terms of development.

I'm a professional musician by trade, and have fairly extensive resources in terms of computer generated music and/or sound design.

I've designed sound and music for theatre pieces, written a number of my own compositions, etc.

If you folks are looking for someone to do any new music and/or sound design on B4 or beyond, drop me a line and let me know.  I'd be happy to help out in any way!

The game is great, I love it!  I can't wait to see B4, and I'm always trying to squeeze a few minutes in here and there to log into the current incarnation and level my character.

The next few months get a bit busy for me, in terms of schedule, but I can always try to make time for something like this!

Let me know!

Cheers,

El

Well, we do need you Smiley
Check this thread out here for some minor details i guess.

http://www.daimonin.com/daimonin_audio_project-t6087.0.html

Email me if you want to start up and i am sure i will find some kinds of music for you to make. Well, it may not just be me, probably most of the devs and some players will have some ideas eh? We all agree though, Daimonin DOES need more music!

Cheers,
Unislash

Well, we would like to see some "classic" background music... a bit like
in commercial mmorpg. IF you has any examples in that direction,
feel free to send them to info@daimonin.net

Thanks

Yeah, some acoustic strings and/or pan flutes =)
Brass is good too. Ever played "The settlers"? At least the Amiga version had a very nice middle-ages-sounding theme that set much of the mood of the game.

Ok, sounds good...it would be fun to help out!

I'm currently doing an extensive renovation on our first home, so a bit swamped at the moment.  I'll give you folks a shout as soon as I have a chance to look into what I can come up with!

Cheers,

El Sal

Ehh, I am also interested in doing music and sfx, only I can not find any soundtracks or sounds or whatever for Fruityloops... am I doing it wrong? Lol just wanted to help, you're kind of lacking in the music department atm. Heres a couple of things I have always wanted for my maps.

Town, market - If you've ever played ocarina of time, you know what I mean, in the market. Low roar of people talking, dogs, birds, even some nailing/hammering in the distance. A town setting, more than just rain on the roofs like you have now.

Desert - Well, what would you hear in a desert. Vultures crowing or whatever, do they even make a sound? Hot sizzling sand sound, Idk how to explain it. Wind blowing sand around too.

Grasslands - The wilderness/jungle theme doesn't work very well for flatlands with few trees. Maybe the sound of trees blowing in the wind, birds, cow moos every once in awhile maybe.

Also, I've noticed something about the soundtracks, they are actually kind of short. I would try to make them up to 5 minutes long to add diversity to the sounds, so you don't hear the exact same bonk or monkey scream every 15 seconds. If theres no problem with having large tracks, I mean.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has a MP3 to OGG conversion program?  I know OGG is a more UNIX/Windows friendly format, you lose a bit off the top and bottom ends for sound richness but the file sizes are a heck of a lot more manageable.

If you have a small program to convert this filetype please let me know, or mail it to tread831@yahoo.com in a zip file format
I've got quite a few song file ideas I'd like to submit.

Hey guys...ummm i noticed something when i turned the music on: the loggin screen's music is from Final Fantasy Tactics(a playstation game)..i'm almost positive. Or perhaps i am wrong, and it just sounds VERY similar.

No, the music is from Crack.com's Golgotha game.

A prof. game which was canceled and then released to public as free.
Including sounds and textures.

There is even a sf project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/golgotha

Here is the complete music: http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=1977

If the sound is similiar, the its possible the same sound artist reused its
stuff and/or they reused even the public music.

There are btw more very nice sounds from golgotha but sadly not
fantasy like.
