As Anchakor im after jabber ID too since im running Jabber 24h so its the best possible way to contact with me.

IRC is crap in communication and skype is really superior to that. I was on #daimonin mostyl 24h but while i took a breath idk what happened in there but while i'll turn on skype i'll get evwerthing what was said due that time i was off. Dunno how Jabber conferences works but im sure with some tricks it shoud fit and switching dev channel to Jabber can do only good, skype is not the thing you can run 24h and its BIG, i dont think we need voice chat or video for development.

Lol - I was just going to post when I had an unsolicited/unknown VOIP Skype call (rejected of course). Think this is the first time this has happened - spooky!

@Anchakor: like Unislash said, that blog article is purely about the VOIP aspect of Skype. Daimonin users of Skype just use the Instant Messaging side of it.  Or maybe I am missing something in your argument against it.

I forget who suggested that Skype's history is not server side: well, it has to be - otherwise how do recent chats get downloaded when I connect? Whichever computer I use?

Whatever you say about IRC vs. Skype: if you forget to connect when you switch on, then with the first you lose everything and with the other you don't. (In fact my Skype starts up automatically, but that's my choice - I don't have that option with Chatzilla.)

I was the one that said skype's history is not server side. I was pretty sure about this from when i was researching about creators and permissions, but just for the record, i did a little searching again.

There are many other hits that hint at it too: Skype chats are purely P2P. Contacts are stored on a server, though
