I finally got around to playing through the Tower of Bebeniss - very nice maps and storyline. I finished yesterday, playing in bits over about three days.

I have a couple of comments (hopefully no spoilers here):
  • Because I played over a few days, when I came back for the final part, I only just about remembered what I was supposed to do to be able to complete it, and where I had to go first. The quest summary (Q) did not remind me of this - that information should be made available.
  • The steps up to the central tower should be "apply by walking". It's not natural to be running forward and come to a dead stop until you realise you have to apply the steps. *
Apart from those couple of niggles - great job and very enjoyable.

Edit: * On second thoughts, this might be a bit tricky and cause problems on leaving. Maybe a small script to check the player's direction. (I've not looked at the maps themselves.)

+  Yes ... good point.  Well, the scripting behind ToB is, lets say, not very pretty.  I'm going to rewrite it, and in the process I'll make sure to include the relevant info in the quest summary.

+  Ok ... I can do something like that - you are right - when you exit from the main tower you just walk towards the steps (no applying required) so makes sense to use the same principles when entering the tower as well.

I have to congratulate you on a great map-set.. and very intelligent quest...

it is certainly of the maps i like the most in Daimonin...
Very interesting to complete...

i'm only sorry that i am too high lvl-ed to enjoy killing the mobs...

you did a fantastic job!

This is just a small suggestion. There is a broken altar at location /a/tower_a_0303 called "broken_altar" - if you could minus the underscore then that would be great, we don't need to see the archname. If memory serves, its the only object in the entire game that has an underscore in its common name (besides those floating blood splatters).

Off topic: those floating blood spatters are fixed as soon as Michtoen mends the server restart.

Fixed, tested on local and commited.  Not going to restart the server for that though, so may be a while before it shows up in game.
