I have completly rewritten the TileEngine (Demo is located in the dl area of SF).
The fps have increased heavily and now more tris are left for the modells.

The filter is hardcoded in the demo, so the 2 groundtextures are always blended with filter #1.
The initial tiles are coming from the serevr, but after a mapscroll the tiles are undefined.

Atm, I am working with red on the terrain shadows.

Its not playable, its just for testing fps on some mashines and for ThePlaneskeeper to test 1000's of tile-textures.

are they 128x128 or 256x256 now?

And for the record red wanted some smoke too, right?

      Compiled and run on my laptop (Dell XPS M1530 running Ubuntu Gutsy with, IIRC, NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400 something or other).

      I installed Ogre 1.4.3 and OIS from synaptic, and all works fine:
    • 1280x1024 wndowed Render Target 'Daimonin Ogre3d Client' Average FPS: 139.461 Best FPS: 151.093 Worst FPS: 87.5622
    • 800x600 windowed Render Target 'Daimonin Ogre3d Client' Average FPS: 277.814 Best FPS: 330.669 Worst FPS: 215.784

        actually on windows i'm not getting any hardware accelleration for the TileEngine demo, so i am forever around 60 FPS.  I will have to test it on linux now too.  I like how it can connect to the server so you can veiw people's chats while playing with it. =)
