Rather than leaving the pointless default message "SMF  - Just Installed!" in the News box on the left, why not use it to some useful effect? Like reminding people how to get round the Metaserver problem? In fact, any global Daimonin-related message is better than that!

A site admin (Smacky?) can go to the Admin tab and click on 'News and newsletters' under Main.

P.S. You are also running 1.1.4 - the current version is 1.1.5.

I'm not sure yet another metaserver reminder would be good there. It's on the main news twice already, and this news item doesn't allow comments. News specific to the forum I would think.

Yeah, it's not the newest version, but until MT returns and upgrades it, we're stuck. I'm not confident enough myself in how he's married SMF to PN (he wrote a custom 'bridge', in PHP I assume (which I hate), which I wouldn't want to fiddle with). Plus AIUI when he upgrades the site anyway (so it is actually a fully functioning, polished site, not the skeleton it is now), all this hacky bridge stuff will be unnecessary.

I haven't noticed the news box ever since I have made it hidden when I first logged in...
