Well, im not an artist, but I was just wondering why we have a desert theme, when there is no desert in the game. This website is supposed to be a reflection of the game to help people to decide whether to download it. I reckon that a nice monster siege on a medieval style castle would be much more interesting, or somthin based on your extensive background story. If this is too hard, then im sorry, but theres gotta be somthin better than this me thinks.

Er, good luck ele Smiley

Being a Software developer I've to agree that'll take a while to recreate something like postnuke but dificult... no!
It's basicly a matter of keeping track of your DB's and the rest is presentation. And it is the last part which takes the longest.
And adding a Mantiz-like module into the fray would only be a matter of 1-1½ month of extra coding. In a year I could deliver a complete system containg PostNuke,AutoTheme and Mantiz like clones. Necesary... Well that has to be discussed Wink

The hardest part I believe would be to get your hands on a good BBC engine which migth have to be build from scratch...  Huh?

I agree with Bradur, though let me add that from my experience, making the system secure takes even longer. Making a design (technical design, not layout) that is stable and functional is easy, but making it secure is not so easy, same for the implementation. For the presentation, there are things that can help like XSLT, but only as long as the other technologies aren't too much crap and thus incompatible. (PHP is on the too much crap side, for instance)

Actually making it secure isn't that hard as long as you take it into account from day 1. But it still rest on the securety of the actual user.
While Global vars has been disabled on the PHP servers you'll have to make requests to get the variables making it harder to bypass... but then again if they crack the webserver your securety doesn't matter.

I like it... though looking at it reminds me of a futuristic game. Where daimonin is set in the medieval times.

Maybe if the backgound looked like a sword blade?
Love the font though Cheesy

I had a little time to remove a lot metallic parts from the background and replace them with a sword Smiley

Looks nice!

One thought though - the current header image has a sandy background, and this is then carried through as the background image on the rest of the page ... then text gets overlaid as in the "Main Menu" and "Server Status" etc. boxes.  Can you show how this would look with your new header?  What would text on that black background look like?

Thanks!

Wow, that's really nice. You should definitely send a PM or email to MT and show these to him. I think he will have renewed interest Wink.

One suggestion: Because it'd be in the top, center of the page... make it symmetrical (lots of sword on one side throws it off right now). Otherwise it'll look unbalanced.

BTW: how did you get the font?

michtoen, I think your or unislash's avatars would be perfect for a background, but we'd have to change font colour and that's a no-no Smiley

Colmoore, that looks a bit like the smae basic thing of the Dungeons and Dragons thing, but it's really good, and I like it!!!!

Elephanty, your avatar is off the cover of a book i read....Forgotten Realms....can't remember the names of any of the books in the series. Cheesy

Someone said more along the lines of the game....possibly as the little markers that tell when there are new posts...maybe when there are none, you could have one of the characters from the game be sitting down or resting, and when there are new posts, have them up and.or swinging a weapon? Just a thought Wink

@colmoore ..: were do u make those? ..i like the sword but if mitch dosnt change the background to a metal darkish color then ur gonna have to find sumthin else...

If u could tell me were i could probably make one that could match this whole desert missled dai theme thingy and make like a giant corpse of those bulls or whatever is normally used in movies and pics.. and make it like in the middle of a oassis Wink
