What maps are you making?!

This is pretty much the old version of our new Map Set forums. Hopefully it might serve as an example of layout and archive what people have made/are making from the past.
So, what maps are we all making? I'm sure the players wouldn't mind knowing. Here's what i'm making--or has been made
STONEHAVEN: Stonehaven is a literally -huge- castle (castle is 5X5 alone). It has about 4 quests that i can think of off the top of my head. All together the maps total up to around 150 or so (i think... it is alot to count you know). Daimonin now has 80 maps just to give you all a feel (including dungeons, on both counts).
Anyways, about the landscape of it. Stonehaven is surrounded by a large 5 tile thick hallow wall which you can go through it you really feel like it. There are windows in it every now and then
. Inside we've got a nice shop, an inn with apts, a piblic church, bank, jail, and a few houses. In the inner part of the castle we have a private church, kitchen, smithy, barracks, library, test room, and a throne room with a treasury room beside it.
Once you are out of the walls you find yourself in a mountain range. It is fairly large and leads you down into a forest-marsh area. Mobs are definately not sparse and are rather low lvls. When you go deeper into the forest, you find yourself in Stonehaven Village.
STONEHAVEN VILLAGE: The village is for low lvls. It is the first set of maps made entirely by me, so expect some fun stuff. It features a shop, a nice well full of ants, a priest, a stronghold, and some civilian houses and npcs. Around the village are mobs, low lvl than in the main forest but very numerous. If you search around enough you should find an ant hill. The cool thing about in here is everything moves. It is chalk-full of waypoints and i seriously hope it doesn't slow down the server :/. Nevertheless, it is fun to be a newbie
.
HORROR CAVES: Instead of going west when you go out of the castle, go east and find yourself walking along a lake. Nothing much around the lake, just a bunch of scenery. However, you do see quite a few islands in this large lake... And what's this? Are there mobs on them? Sure are! If you can find the entrance to the islands then all you need to do is fall through one of the holes on them. This will lead you to Horror Caves. Beware though, the mobs seem to be experts at what they do, and they also seem lonely... maybe you can go give them a hug (lvls 74-94).
LIBRARY: The library and court go rather hand-in-hand, but they each are big enough to talk about them seperately. The library is fairly large and takes up over a map of structure alone. It has 2 levels to it, and also has two wings. A librarian inside will give you directions
. The library has books on the daimonin history, all of my guides, fanfic, and some dm-ish kind of stuff in it.
COURT: The court is -very- decorative compared to other buildings. For this reason i am starting to have doubts about it being in Stoneglow. Anyways, it is 1 1/2 maps large and has a defendants room, prosecuters room (give me a better name here...), jury room, judge's room, and a main room where everything takes place. I've got it all set up--benches and everything. Walls are made of marble and floors to go with them. There is also a public room where a npc gives credit to everyone. It also has a statue in the middle surrounded by potted plants. Benches are along the walls.
WIZARDS GUILD: This is the newest of my maps (atm). It has 4 levels; 2 levels where anyone can go and 2 levels where members are the only ones who can go to. Since they are my newest, i believe they are also my finest buildings that i have made yet. The walls have the new pictures up and also new tapestries
. Many npcs with scripts-all ripe for quests. The 4th lvl is a teleporter room. It gives you 5 different teleporters. The actual teleporters are actually the level-up animation, a cool little thing i did
. Anyways, each of those lead to training rooms. I have novice, apprentice, master, and grandmaster rooms. The middle teleporter (a mirror) will eventually lead to the Department Of Transportation if we ever need one (maybe between mages guilds eh?). So, all in all it is very nice i think. I havn't had too many visitors, so come look! The scripting is... well, i'm working on it. Don't talk to the guildmaster atm
.
Well, i hope everyone liked my large post! Please post up what you guys are making too! It doesn't matter if you are official or not--we still like to know what you guys are doing
Cheers,
Unislash

I have been working on some maps for some time. I have started since around Christmas and so far I got a few areas finished.
ILLUMA: This is a new town that goes along a coastline, the coast being on the west. There are cliffs to the north and a lot of sand to the south. I have worked on this the least but so far, it has a tavern with proposed apartments on the next level. It also has a shop with three rooms, one for weapons, one for armour and the last room for misc stuff. I have just set up the bank for it too. It currently has a church too, though not quite sure if I should keep it or replace it with something else, since I'm not sure if there should be only one church for each god. The town is pretty small atm, but I'm preparing to give it an expansion.
JAGGED CAVE: This is the first dungeon I've made. The entrance to this is just outside Illuma, going into a cliff on the beach. Everything is finished in this dungeon. It starts with kobolds at first, then to goblins and elemental slimes, then finally to undead, apart from the skellies. It has 2 sub-bosses with a beholder for the final boss. And then after that, there is a dark basement which you can explore as well, and if you have killed the beholder, it is also a shortcut way out of the cave leading to the Haunted Mansion basement. To navigate the basement, you will need a torch at least (though a lamp is better). (lvls 15-30)
HAUNTED MANSION: A small dungeon, filled with skellies. This is located to the north of Illuma. On the ground floor, the dungeon is completely empty in the daytime while at night, it gradually fills up with mobs. The skellies always spawn in the basement though because it is always dark there. And don't be surprised if you find a few mages knocking about.
(lvls 9-15)
BATTLE MAGE GUILD: First, this was going to be a wizard's house to the south of Illuma and the wizard inside gives the quest for the Jagged Cave. Then I decided to make it bigger and then also added a battle near it. Though then the battle was pretty pointless if it was just for a house and, it already sort of looked like a guild, so I decided to turn it into a battle mage guild (not a wizard's guild in case anyone asks
). So far I've only done the ground floor for this since I don't know if anyone has any plans for a battle mage guild, so I have been concentrating on getting the battle created instead. There are lots of ants to fight here, the guards can lend a hand and if it gets too overcrowded, even the mage inside can run outside and attack them! At night, the ants go away and everything becomes calm again and the mage will return indoors.
I've heard that on the TODO list, quests like 'kill x amount of mobs' will be able to be created. So I'm planning that the mage on the ground floor will eventually hold a quest like 'kill 50 of those ants' and then the mage that gives the Jagged Cave quest will be downstairs. (lvls 11-15)
---
Right now, there is only one quest, though I am going to add a couple more, plus a couple more small dungeons in Illuma itself which will be part of its expansion.
In total, there are about 50 maps there atm including dungeons.
Thanks!

ummm............i was working on the mage guild...........but since Unislash beat me to it.......
Temple to <god's name here>: Daimonin needs more religions! Time to make an uber-goody-goody god! Somebody come up with a good name for it. I will implement diety rewards other than the healing and grace regen. The quest for the <god's name>'s ring of the prayers will be different, prolly involving killing something very evil
. Other rewards will include evil-smiting swords if i can figure out how to make that work. This will entail me mapping some new dungeon too. The new grace regen quest will still be the same level, but u can only be a follower of one diety......trying to become a follower of another will result in deific wrath upon you  . Idease welcome on possible diety rewards.

There are already set names for gods, like Gnarg is one.
I am making 3 towns (Jindoh Village, Teragate, and Bilslpit) connectected by a bunch of wilderness. There are too many dungeons/caves to list but there is about 2 dungeons for each lvl group. Jindoh village is a starting village (this was all meant for a new server) and there are a bunch of quests scripted in python and a bunch of them not scripted yet. =)
Other maps not yet connected to the 3 towns:
BLANKSHOFT TEMPLE:
A huge temple where you need to use you head more than your sword. Many puzzles and mazes, and riddles too. There are some high lvl mobs in between some of the puzzles.
WYVERN JAIL/CAVE
A huge jail for wyverns and other big monsters. You have to go through many different blocks to finish it. There is also a long cave connected to it (which I have no idea where its leading yet) and some other quests involved.
And some other which I would list but I have to go lol.

I have a Kobold outpost that just needs some finishing touches (figuring out how to script in a couple real minor things). I also have a drow tower that is just put together, not tested, not scripted. I have also designed a top level to the existing tavern (that isn't implemented yet) that has an Inn with a save point in it.
Basically I can't bring myself to do/learn the scripting elements wtih the scripting language change coming soon.

I thought that i'd just update my wizards guild:
The training rooms consist of mobs that do not move and look like... well, havn't gotten to that part yet, but for novice's training room, it will have these in there. For apprentice's training room there will be moving golems in there that are low lvl and do attack back. For master's we've got actual mobs that actually attack you on sight. They will probably be lvl 40 or so. Grandmaster's room will pretty much be an astral room where they can meditate and stuff--they don't need a training room when they can go anywhere they wish to find the training themselves.
You guys should come on and look (specifically when i am on; i like to give tours). My test server is "-server 24.18.112.210". I hope to see you on sometime!

PORTLAND
is a city near seashore (of course
) It is quite a rich city, as merchants from other parts of the world bring various goods here. There are 2 storehouses, a big dining hall for the sailors, Port Master's hall with a view on the sea and pier, a church and a small seriff's office, and of course a shop. I am planning making an inn on the boundaries to the North. There are 3 roads leading from Portland, N, E, S. Portland streets are made of marble stone.
The rest is only in my mind, as I have stopped working on it before Beta 3 was relased. Now returning to the work:) I am not planning any scripts at the moment, although there are some. Not working though working before. I am waiting for Python to be replaced by Lua.
I would use some dock graphics, casual wood, but with vertical thickness, and piles.

I guess ill try my hand at map making, ive decided to make a training map, simple easy to hard monsters, a portal for level area 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 80, and elite (almost nonstop spawning and Completely pissed mobs). one prob, i JUST started checking out the map editor and so far ive only found out how to put floors and walls down, and put stuff on signs, so its not going to be done for little while. then the only problem is, I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO HOST A SERVER! someone please gimme some info on what i need.

Have you already looked at the Wiki? There's some info on installing and running a server.

ok im getting better at this, ive made some changes to Stoneglow, well.... the "tavern" anyway. i dont know script, so its just a shell. basically, its a small tavern with a garden nearby, in the garden is a pile of rubbish and some ants nearby, then some flowers and bees, and im thinking about a pet wyvern. inside the tavern, light wood floors, a bar stretching from one end to the other candles in each corner, with a 9 lighting each, in the bar there is a quest and a mini quest, the mini quest is an old mage who had his senior discount card stolen by a golem he summoned while drunk, the other is a demilich(or other monster) that had made a nice nest underneath the tavern, and stolen some Priceless booze. contact me via email or PM if you want the maps to add script. the only things it needs are the mage needs to be friendly, and send you on the mini quest(plus the senior discount card must be a one drop quest item). the golem must spawn regularly and i need the bartender (Joe) to sell booze, food, and water. (much like in Finlos's server) i want a pet wyvern in garden nearby, and a gate on the fence. some flowers and trees, and you can keep the map for your own. only request is that i get credited for the idea and shell, and that i get a copy of the finished work.

Btw thousandeyes... since when is a wyvern in a garden... and if the tavern going to be located in town, then i'm thinking no mobs within the upper floor because 1) it will make the guards go crazy and 2, it can kill players in a map where killing isn't supposed to happen (How i know? You can't cast offensive spells in stoneglow). Other than that, it all looks fine
.

no, what im trying to say is, a friendly mob. other than that, its just ants and a golem.
ive done a little thinking and for the quest under the tavern, it should be a few levels deep, but not like OOP 2 levels deep, i mean, like slime slords width and height and about 3-4 levels deep, for lower level players on top 2 levels (mobs lvl 5-10, and the bottom levels 11-18. sound good?)
all mobs asides from some little lvl 1 ants spawning around a trash heap, and some lvl 1-2 honey bees. ya it would be a little stupid if you couldnt use spells, so why not make the "Garden" a little further down, and make it part the wilderness, with a barrier of trees around it?
just my 13s and 4c
